Teddy Ebersol died the year the Red Sox' world series drought ended. His glove, caste in bronze, serves as a reminder of both.

The tragic death of a young baseball fan brought support to an ambitious plan – first proposed by the Esplanade Association – to fully restore the athletic fields at Charlesbank. A public-private partnership was formed with support from the governor, and set out to raise funds. Hundreds of athletes each year – many of them young people enrolled in the local Hill House programs – now play on state-of-the-art athletic fields overlooking the river.

Located on the Esplanade between the Longfellow Bridge and the dam.
