This wayfinding system allows blind students to walk through the pond woods with confidence.

A pond at the center of campus of the Perkins School for the Blind been fenced off for years. This initiative will provide a fully accessible path around the pond, lined with wild flowers and trees. A rope-and-post system will be used by blind students for self-guided walks – and spurs from the trail and a boardwalk bridge will provide them with direct access to the water. Lessons learned from this Braille Trail will be applied to the Sensory Trail in the Watertown Riverfront Park nearby.
